SPRINGFIELD While many homeowners are facing the sting of higher property tax bills this year, city officials are reminding residents they may be eligible for financial relief.
Applications for several local property tax relief programs are due April 1, officials said in a statement. There’s also the state’s “Senior Circuit Breaker Tax Credit” program for senior citizens meeting certain income guidelines.
“I know we are all living in surreal and challenging times and everyone is experiencing some form of financial burden,” Mayor Domenic J. Sarno said. “I want to encourage our residents to take advantage of any and all tax relief measures that might be available either locally or from the state.”
