STAFF REPORTER GUWAHATI: The Boro Diaspora Forum (BDF) congratulated Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, and his cabinet on forming a new Government in Assam. Further, in a letter the BDF highlighted few concerns and urged the government to implement, Strengthening of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) administration in accordance with the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. Further, protection of Land Rights of Boro and other indigenous tribal people of the state by strict implementation of provisions of tribal belts and block guideline i.e. as laid down under Chapter X of the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation Act,1886. Also, settlement of thousands of Boro people and other tribals residing in the erstwhile Reserve Forests in the State.

STAFF REPORTER GUWAHATI: The State administration has a shortage of 221 ACS (Assam Civil Service) officials despite the very recent recruitment of 135 personnel. Moreover, there is no possibility of any new recruitment taking place in the cadre during the remaining part of 2021. This is because the APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) is yet to conduct even the preliminary examination to recruit more such officials. It takes almost a year to complete the selection and recruitment processes of personnel into the ACS as well as the Assam Land & Revenue Services (ALRS).
