The daily flood report of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) said almost 34,000 people have been affected in Baksa, Barpeta, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nalbari, Sonitpur and Udalguri districts.
As per an Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) report, till Saturday 37,535 people in 10 districts of the state have been affected by the deluge so far. One person has been killed in a landslide in Guwahati, though the flood waters have not claimed any life so far.
The ASDMA bulletin said 8,88,177 people continue to be impacted by the deluge, with the Cachar district being the worst hit as more than 5.63 lakh people are in distress.
Assam's flood situation improved considerably and life was slowly returning to normal in the flood-affected districts. However, over 9.68 lakh people are still affected.
