Guwahati: Abducted ONGC employee Ritul Saikia has entered the Indian territory at 7:10 AM on Saturday, May 22 in Mon district, Nagaland along the India-Myanmar border. He was released by the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) on Friday morning.
After being released, Saikia told reporters on the Indian side that he has been walking for 3-4 hours at a stretch since Friday through very difficult terrain. The need for Saikia s release came within hours of Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma making a fervent plea to ULFA(I) chief Paresh Baruah to release the captivated ONGC employee.

Guwahati: Starting tomorrow, May 16, Sunday, curfew will be in place from 12 noon instead of the current 2 PM and all shops and business establishments would shut by 11AM instead of the present 1 PM, the Assam government said in its new COVID SOP.
The curfew will be in place from 12 noon to 5 AM the next morning. The new SOP comes into effect from 5 AM tomorrow (May 16, Sunday).
Quippo Employee Ram Kumar released by ULFA (I) in Nagaland
Ram Kumar who worked as a radio operator was abducted with another employee Pranab Kumar Gogoi by the banned outfit on December 21.

GUWAHATI: The ULFA (I) has released the second abducted Quippo employee Ram Kumar in an undisclosed location near the India-Myanmar border in Nagaland, said reports.
Reportedly, he is under the custody of the Assam Rifles.
Ram Kumar who worked as a radio operator was abducted with another employee Pranab Kumar Gogoi by the banned outfit on December 21 from the Kumchaikha drilling site in Innao area of Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh.
