Massachusetts on track to reach vaccination goal, as immunization effort shifts

BOSTON â€” Gov. Charlie Baker said he expects the state will reach its goal of 4.1 million fully vaccinated adults by early June, as the state s focus shifts to reaching every pocket of the commonwealth.  With supply now meeting demand for shots, he urged residents on Monday to take advantage of available appointments across the state, at mass vaccination sites, retail pharmacies, community health centers and regional collaboratives. Today, the Baker-Polito Administration will host a press conference with Secretary of Health and Human Services Marylou Sudders and Massachusetts General Hospital Center for Disaster Medicine Director Dr. Paul Biddinger to discuss progress toward vaccinating the Commonwealth’s goal of over four million people. In December, the state set a goal to vaccinate at least 4.1 million people through a series of phases, starting with health care workers and the most vulnerable populations.
