Pressure over seasonal worker plan11/01/2021|1min
Agriculture Minister David Littleproud has accused the Victorian government of ignoring an industry proposal to bring more seasonal workers into the state.
In October the Australian Fresh Produce Alliance put forward a plan to quarantine up to 200 seasonal workers a fortnight in Mildura to ease the shortage.
Under the proposal Aspen Medicine will run the quarantine facility, costing the state government $9 million to set up and a fee of $2,500 per person in quarantine.
Speaking to The Australian, Mr Littleproud accused the Andrews government of refusing to make a decision.
