The Sardy Field Fire Department and other emergency agencies practiced responding to an emergency scenario at the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport on Friday. The exercise included a mock airplane set on fire, and community volunteers pretended to suffer from various injuries.
A hiker suffering from an injured knee and an illness caused by dehydration and preexisting medical conditions was successfully evacuated from the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness on Monday afternoon, according to a Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office.
