UDAIPUR: The Chittorgarh police seized 560kg of poppy husk worth Rs15 lakh, hidden inside a specially designed cavity in a truck on Saturday. One person has been arrested in connection with the case.
Chittorgarh SP Deepak Bhargava said the seizure was made under the ongoing campaign in the district to check illegal transportation and smuggling of narcotics in the area.
ASP Tripti Vijayvargiya and CO Asheesh Repaswal supervised the team led by Vinod Menaria, Nikumbh SHO who spotted a truck on the Mangalwad-Nimbahera highway near Malan Khedi village.
When the cops signalled the truck to stop at the checkpoint, the driver accelerated the vehicle. However, he was caught because of the barricading.
