Ghaziabad district gets third oxygen plant with capacity of 333 LMP

A oxygen plant with a capacity of 333 litres per minute (LMP) was inaugurated in this district of Uttar Pradesh, officials said on Wednesday. Set up at the Bhojpur Primary Health Centre, the plant is the third oxygen-generating unit in the district. It was jointly inaugurated by District Magistrate Rakesh Kumar Singh and Modinagar BJP MLA Manju Shivach. Chief Development Officer Asmita Lal said the unit will cater to the medical oxygen need of villages of remote areas of the district. Addressing the gathering at the inauguration, District Magistrate Singh said the oxygen-generating unit has been established by M/S Dabur India Limited using the corporate social responsibility (CSR) fund.

Representative image NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: Lockdown restrictions would be lifted partially in Noida and Ghaziabad from Monday as the Uttar Pradesh government has announced the relaxation of curbs in several districts where Covid cases have dipped below 600. On Sunday, Ghaziabad’s active cases stood at 496 after the health department discharged 162 people in the past 24 hours. Noida, on the other hand, had 583 active cases. The easing of curbs is only for 12 hours on weekdays. Night curfew and weekend lockdown will continue across the state. According to the government guidelines, all markets, industries, transport, offices and logistical firms can resume operations but with strict Covid protocols in place. However, shopping malls, gyms, spas, cinema halls, clubs and educational institutions will remain closed.

Prayagraj: The Allahabad high court recently directed the district magistrate, Ghaziabad to file his personal affidavit in a PIL alleging black-marketing of oxygen in the district, resulting in alleged deaths of several Covid-19 patients during the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. The court also asked the DM to file the report of the inquiry instituted by him in this regard following a complaint filed by the petitioner Nand Kishor, a sitting MLA from Loni assembly constituency of Ghaziabad, alleging involvement of Shailendra Kumar Singh, ADM (City), Ghaziabad and some other persons in black-marketing of oxygen. Hearing the PIL filed by the BJP MLA, a division bench comprising Justice Sunita Agarwal and Justice Sadhna Rani (Thakur) directed to post this matter on June 7, 2021 for the next hearing.
