Seventy-one corona patients, of whom 65 were under treatment in hospital and six in their respective homes or quarantines died on Tuesday, according to the latest update issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).During the last 24 hours, most of the deaths occurred in Sindh followed by the Punjab. It added that out of the total 71 deaths, 41 patients died on the ventilator.No affected person was on ventilator in Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan (GB) while 309 ventilators were occupied elsewhere in Pakistan.The maximum ventilators were occupied in four major areas including Multan 43 percent, ICT 44 percent, Peshawar 27 percent and Lahore 30 percent.

According to details, Hayyatabad Phase VI street number 6, Aslam Dheri, Tehkal Bala Road, Gulshan Rehman Colony, Hazar Khwani and other areas will be sealed at 6:00pm from today.  The decision was taken after Pakistan reported 71 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 448,522. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 9,080.

The lockdown will be implemented at 6pm today (December 17). There will be ‘controlled entry and exit’ in the following areas: Street No 6-12, Sector F-8, Hayatabad. Aslam Dheri, Pajjagi Road. Gulshan Rehman Colony, Mattani. Hazar Khwani, Sheikhan Road. According to the deputy commissioner’s notification, no person will be allowed to exit or enter “except those supplying essential commodities”.
