segment. the president has complete authority to take the action he took, authorized by the congress of the united states as a result of a joint resolution in the war powers act of 1973. that gives them the authority to respond in an emergency crisis situation when we are being attacked. so he does not have to go to the congress and ask permission. he is not starting a war, he is reacting to attacks that have already taken place by an adversary. in terms of retaliation, certainly the houthis and the iranians directing them will attempt to do something here, but let s give the administration some credit here. this is long overdue. we have been talking about this for weeks, martha. we have a conference of attack that appears to have done some damage. bomb damage assessment is being completed, and if there are more targets to reattack, then i think we should do that, and take as much of the houthis capability away as we possibly can.
