THE State Government launched the Sabah Welfare Foundation (YKS) during the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) First Anniversary celebration, Wednesday, with RM12.1million for starters from various government and private organisations to assist in implementing its welfare agenda in the state.  The contributors included Sawit Kinabalu which gave RM5 million; Yayasan Sabah Group through Sabah Softwood and Benta Wawasan (RM2m); WTC Holdings Berhad (RM1m); Qhazanah Sabah Berhad (RM1m); Sabah Credit Corporation (RM1m); Sabah Energy Corporation Sdn Bhd (RM1m); Asian Supply Base Sdn Bhd (RM500,000); Ipmuda Berhad (RM250,000); Lau Gek Poh Foundation (RM200,000); Persatuan Syarikat Pengurusan Kelab Sabah @ Jesselton Waterfront (RM100,000); and Cement Industries Sabah Sdn Bhd (RM100,000)

Esteban (middle) with Prunella Phoong (right) LABUAN: Asian Supply Base Sdn Bhd (ASB) is considering a revision of the newly-enforced gate fees in view of the grievances of logistics service providers and transporters. Labuan-based ASB, which is a Sabah government linked company, introduced new gate fee charges (classified based on the type of vehicles) to all vehicles entering its gates effective Jan 1, 2021. Newly-appointed chief executive officer Japar B. Esteban said ASB, which has more than 100 multinational and local companies operating in the base, was willing to listen to the industry players’ inputs and grievances, taking into account the business interests of both ASB and its clients.

Published on: Tuesday, December 29, 2020 By: Bernama Prunella Phoong : Credit Bernama LABUAN: Asian Supply Base Sdn Bhd (ASB) has notified its users and clients that it will be implementing a new gate fee, with effect from Jan 1, 2021. As this fee is a third party charge and can be substantial when accumulated, the Labuan Freight Forwarders Association (LFFA) has also notified all clients in the logistics industry that there will be additional charges invoiced involving transportation charges for entries into ASB locations, including Main Gate 1, Gate 2, New Yard, Yard 45, Yard 36, Warehouse 3 and Warehouse 7. LFFA President Prunella Phoong said the fee included all deliveries of imported consignments or collection of export consignments from clients located within ASB locations as noted in the circular charges.
