The Kari Motor Speedway, situated on the outskirts of Coimbatore amidst sylvan surrounding, will roar to life as participants gear up for the final round of country s premium motor racing event the 23rd JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship. After the grand success of the first two rounds of races held in December 2020 at the same venue, this weekend January 21 to 24 again promises rich action. Six races in each category of Formula LGB 4 and Novice Cup will be held during the finale weekend. Chennai s Ashwin Datta of Dark Don Racing grabbed the limelight in December in the Formula LGB4 category with his consistent racing.
National Racing: Datta signs off round one with double win

Coimbatore, Dec 13 : Chennai’s Ashwin Datta (Dark Don Racing) and Kottayam’s Amir Sayed (MSport) signed off with a double win each in the 23rd JK Tyre – FMSCI National Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway here on Sunday.
Datta cashed in on the chances that came his way to seal the top position in two races of the national championship class for Formula LGB4 cars. His day got off to a disappointing start, however, with his win in Saturday’s final race corrected to a 12th place finish based on protests and official observation. Sarosh Hataria (Ahura Racing) was declared as the eventual winner.
JKNRC: Ashwin Datta, Amir Sayed steal the show
COIMBATORE, Dec 12: Ashwin Datta and Amir Sayed Shone in the Formula LGB4 class and JK Tyre Novice Cup respectively in the opening round of the 23rd JK TyreFMSCI National Racing Championship (JKNRC) here on Saturday.
The 16-year old Sayed from Kottayam proved his class winning all four races with ease in the Novice Cup.
Even as the others struggled to tackle the tricky and slow first corner, Sayed, despite limited track time, handled it with ease. In fact, he turned it to his advantage winning both the races on Friday in a commanding manner. He further shifted top gear to win two more races on Saturday.
