Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], January 7 (ANI): The Odisha government on Thursday constituted a high power committee to make necessary recommendations regarding reservation for students of state-run high schools in engineering and medical courses, according to an official release.
This comes after the state cabinet on December 28, 2020, had proposed reservation for students who passed from government schools for admissions into various medical and engineering colleges. The proposals were approved by the cabinet in a meeting via video conferencing chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Government on Thursday constituted a High Power Committee for making necessary recommendation regarding reservation of seats for the students of government high schools in engineering and medical colleges of the State following a decision of the Cabinet in this regard on December 28, 2020.
The committee will recommend reservation of seats for the students of government high schools in the engineering and medical colleges of the State. The committee will be headed by the retired judge of Orissa High Court Justice AK Mishra.

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha government on Thursday constituted a high-power committee headed by a former judge of the high court that would make necessary recommendation and finalize modalities regarding reservation of seats for the students of government high schools in state-run engineering and medical courses.
Justice (retired) AK Mishra will head the committee that has been formed in accordance with the decision of the state cabinet held on December 28. Other members of the committee include Ashok Kumar Das, former vice chancellor of Utkal University and vice-chairperson of the Odisha State Higher Education Council, CBK Mohanty, director, Medical Education and Training, BS Poonia, chairman, Council of High Secondary Education, G Reghu, director, technical education and training while AK Nayak, joint secretary, state skill development and technical education department will be the member convenor.

Das was earlier admitted to a private hospital in Pondicherry, December 4 for treatment.
The department head Dr Biswajit Das and a panel of four doctors have been providing him treatment, sources said.
Das’s health condition is said to be stable now.
Notably, Das was earlier undergoing treatment under the supervision of Dr Ashok Kumar Das. He had developed a fracture on his right hand a few days ago.
