When Marc Romano became captain of the Stoughton High School swim team in his senior year, he admittedly was bored with his studies. Hi greatest memory was finishing the 100 butterfly with a new best personal record.
That love of swimming made all the difference when he rescued a woman from a shark attack while working in Hawaii on Jan 2.
The Stoughton native was profiled on the ABC television show “Good Morning America” the next day after receiving a whirlwind of attention from admirers both on the island and around the country.
“It just started off like a normal morning for me,” said Romano, 26, in a phone interview from Hawaii.
