Wednesday night's meeting featured a study session on the parent/guardian children's library book review board and possible outsourcing of management of the Huntington Beach Public Library.
The policy says no city library should allow children "ready access" to books that contain content of a sexual nature. Books with sexual references are to be placed in shelves designated for adults.
Librarians moved books out of the children's section Wednesday to comply with a city council resolution to restrict access to books deemed to have sexual content. Some of the books are about subjects such as puberty.
