headlines, steve. back to you. steve: thank you, ashley. ashley: you are welcome. steve: tonight, nearly 100 high school student seniors will receive full-time job offers to join the skilled trade industry. the soon-to-be graduates from the houston area will fill roles that are desperately needed amid a nationwide labor shortage. joining us right now we have got two of those students jackson lawson and ashley shugart along aaron ennis who chairs the organization. good morning to all of you have and joining us from the houston area. good morning. steve: aaron, this is a wonderful idea. essentially it s signing day like the sports do. explain where you came up with that idea and what you have got planned for tonight. five years ago in supporting scoot district working for what used to be known as the affinity group now known atwood. working the oil and gas and petra chemical and construction industry for over 20 years.
we needed trades and skills people. through clear technical education. we can now recruit students just like we would a football player, a pitcher, a basketball player, so forth and so on. we came up with the idea to recruit the future skills and trades folks. this is your future welders, your instrumentation techs, electricians and carpenter through career technical education a lot of students rah forded these particular opportunities. and so i partnered with bisd came up to recognition the same we do with athletes. the idea is to give them the recognition that they deserve that they are going to be going into high wage, high opportunity jobs with a signing day with the thought we can continue to increase career technical education and further along the trades and skills workforce. steve: it s a great idea. and, tonight, things kick off 6:00 p.m. central time. ashley, tell us a little bit
