A statewide grand jury charged former Broward County schools administrator Tony Hunter with bid tampering and receiving unlawful compensation.
Officials say Hunter accepted a job and a large discount on a lakefront home in exchange for directing the purchase to a company, Education Consultants, in 2019.
A newspaper investigation showed another school district paid about half for similar equipment. Hunter’s attorney denied wrongdoing.
