During that time, the property owners see their tax rates reduced.
Housing Director Dave Dunn said the program seeks to preserve existing affordable housing.
The three landlords that signed on to the program last year are expected to save nearly a combined $30,000 in taxes this year.
The new participants are projected to produce a $75,000 tax shift next year, based on preliminary estimates.
The properties being added to the program are three smaller operations with two fourplexes, the smallest allowed participants; three complexes with approximately 30 units each; and a complex of 76 rental townhomes.
The average monthly rents for the apartments and homes range from $549 for a studio to $989 for a three-bedroom unit, which are well below the defined maximum rents allowed under U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development guidelines for subsidized housing.
