Ex-Dauphin County public defender with suspended law license lands job as clerk

Former Dauphin County Public Defender Bradley Winnick, who was convicted of conflict of interest last year, has been hired back by the county as a law clerk, PennLive has confirmed.
Winnick was suspended without pay in 2019 from his job as public defender after the Attorney General’s office launched an investigation into claims he allowed employees in the public defender’s office to earn double comp time for working the polls on election days in 2017 to promote the campaigns of candidates.
Winnick last year pleaded guilty to a single conflict of interest count – third-degree felony – in return for the dismissal of three other charges. He was sentenced to 18 months’ probation and paid restitution of more than $13,000, which was the value of the comp time Winnick improperly granted.
