HONORED â The Childrenâs Hunger Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to eradicating childhood food insecurity, honored the Indian Creek Local School Districtâs Food Service team for their dedication to feeding students during the COVID-19 pandemic. The staff worked with the Bay 6 Project of Mingo Junction to serve an estimated 89,000 breakfast and lunch meals to children amid the shutdown and their efforts have earned accolades for the program. Among those helping were, front from left, Lisa Pearce, P.J. WILMINGTON Betty Louise Malpass Shaw, 60, passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021.
She was born Feb. 18, 1960, in Wilmington to the late Archie Malpass Sr. and Helen Louise Dukes Malpass.
Betty grew up in Wilmington and was a graduate of E.A. Laney High School. She was a member of Pine View Church in the Flemington Community. She was a loving and special mother, sister and aunt. She loved all of her family, especially her six nieces.
She loved baking, crafts, flowers and spending time with her family and friends. She was a resident at Yatties Independent Living in Chadbourn, and loved her fellow residents and staff who were like family to her. Special thanks to all of the staff and residents who treated her like family.
