Grand jury indicts 28 Tuesday

A Highland County grand jury returned indictments in the May session against 28 individuals Wednesday on charges that included receiving stolen property, felonious assault, forgery, tampering with evidence and endangering children.
Over half the indictments 16 to be exact were directly related to drug possession.
Timothy J. White, 46, Hillsboro, faces a five-count indictment that involved the alleged use of a stun gun on two juveniles.
The first two counts of felonious assault, both second-degree felonies, allege that from Feb. 1 through April 9, 2021, White used a Runt 20-million volt stun gun on a pair of children, whom the indictment lists as being 10 and 11 years of age at the time.

HILLSBORO A Highland County grand jury returned indictments in the May session.
Several Clinton County residents were indicted on drug-related charges:
• Ashleigh P. Myers, 33, Wilmington, for failure to appear, a fourth-degree felony. Online court records showed that a capias warrant for her arrest was issued on April 7 related to her four-count indictment on drug possession charges.
• Tera Barker, 39, Wilmington, for aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.
• Joseph J. Cramton, 43, New Vienna, for aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

UPDATED: 33 indicted in Highland County grand jury s May 4 session
A Hillsboro man indicted on five felony counts that included allegations of “causing or attempting to cause physical harm” to children was among the 33 individuals charged in the Tuesday, May 4 Highland County grand jury session.
Timothy J. White, 46, of Hillsboro was charged with two counts of felonious assault, both second-degree felonies; two counts of endangering children, both third-degree felonies; and one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.
It is alleged that on or about Feb. 1 through April 9, White “did knowingly cause or attempt to cause physical harm” to two victims using a 20 million-volt stun gun. He is also accused of “recklessly administering corporal punishment or other physical disciplinary measure or physically restraining” two
Martinsville man gets 2 years in prison

HILLSBORO Two people received prison sentences while four others were given three years of community control following sentencing hearings Wednesday in Highland County Common Pleas Court.
Joshua W. Dennis, 33, Martinsville, was sentenced to a total of 24 months in prison on a third-degree felony charge of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer; and a fourth-degree felony charge of receiving stolen property, and was given credit for 100 days of jail time served.
The court’s judgment entry of confinement ordered 18 months incarceration on the failure to comply count, and six months on the receiving stolen property charge, to be served consecutively.
