New El Dorado girls’ basketball coach Makara Frazier wasn’t planning on running the entire program when she joined Ashlee Curtis’ staff as an assistant last summer.
After a 17-7 season, Curtis resigned to take a job as an assistant principal at the high school. Frazier, who was head coach for three years at her alma mater Smackover, was named head coach a few weeks ago.
Even after relinquishing her role as El Dorado’s head girls’ basketball coach, Ashlee Curtis’ main concern when talking to the media was getting something in the newspaper about next week’s youth basketball camp.
The camps start Monday at Wildcat Arena, by the way. Youngsters can sign up at the door.
