MANSFIELD - Progress continues on the $61 million reconstruction of U.S. 30 between Ohio 309 and Fifth Avenue in Mansfield.
The project that began in spring 2020 is proceeding on schedule and could be done by 2023, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. There is still about 80% of project construction work left to be completed, said Kaitlyn Thompson, an ODOT spokesperson. Main tasks still to be completed is all mainline structure work, along with all mainline full depth pavement removal/replacement.
U.S. 30, built in 1956, was last repaved in 2010 and repairs were made in 2017, but the concrete base underneath the asphalt has deteriorated and requires ongoing repairs.
