Four months after his arrest, Union minister Ajay Misra Teni's son Ashish will walk out of jail on Tuesday. He is the prime accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case in which four farmers died after a vehicle ran them over.
On Thursday, Union minister Ajay Misra Teni's son Ashish was granted bail by the Allahabad High Court in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. However, he cannot walk out of jail. Here's why.
The court also observed that it cannot shut its eyes to the killing of three persons sitting inside the Thar vehicle, including the driver, who were lynched by the protesters. Photographs have "clearly revealed the brutality of the protesters", the court said.
Ashish Misra, the key accused in the Lakhimpur case, may not get to leave jail just yet. The bail order, issued by Allahabad High Court on Thursday, does not include all sections he has been charged with.
