Digital Security Act: CTTC gets 30 more days to probe further against Kishore Ahmed Kabir Kishore Star Digital Report Star Digital Report A Dhaka tribunal today gave the Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of police 30 more days to complete the probe in a Digital Security Act case filed against cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore, and nine others. Judge Mohammad Ash Sams Joglul Hossain of Dhaka Cyber Tribunal passed the order after Md Afchhar Ahmed, a sub-inspector of the CTTC unit and also investigation officer (IO) of the case, submitted an application seeking 30 days more time to complete the investigation. The tribunal directed the IO to submit the report by April 15 after a full investigation into the case.

Judge As Shams Jaglul Hossain of Bangladesh Cyber Tribunal passed the order as investigation agency Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crimes (CTTC) unit failed to submit the report today. Earlier on February 10, the tribunal ordered CTTC to further investigate the case and submit the report today.

Judge Ash Sams Joglul Hossain of the Dhaka Cyber Tribunal passed the order after the prosecution submitted a petition seeking further investigation into the case. The tribunal directed CTTC to submit a probe report to it by March 23.

Digital Security Act: Charges pressed against Kishore, Mushtaq, Didarul File photo: Prabir Das Star Digital Report Star Digital Report Police have pressed charges against cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore, writer Mushtaq Ahmed and Rashtrochinta activist Didarul Islam Bhuiyan in a cased filed under Digital Security Act last year.  A total of 11 people were prosecuted in the case filed by Abu Bakar Siddique, assistant director of Rab-3, with Ramna Police Station on May 6 last year. Court sources confirmed that the police submitted the charge sheet at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka on Thursday.  Charges were framed against three of the accused, while eight others were let off, due to lack of evidence against them, the court sources confirmed.
