Despite the ceaseless drizzle in Dhaka, brought about by the deep depression soon to evolve into a cyclone, hundreds of metalheads braved the weather to storm into mosh pits at the "Legacy of Metal Revived" event last Friday at the Liberation War Museum auditorium.
Today marks the 10th death anniversary of the legendary Azam Khan, the pioneer of rock music in Bangladesh. With a discography of more than 20 albums, he was a constant advocate for peace and freedom, throughout his life. Azam Khan changed the course of our cultural history through his unconventional approach to music, his iconic style, and powerful and impactful lyrics.

Today marks the 71
st birthday of the legendary pop guru, Azam Khan. He was born in Azimpur on this day in 1950.
The name guru surfaced as a result of the love for him which was very well deserved and befitting. His songs were synonymous to youth s exuberance. Millions of youngsters were inspired by his songs.
He was a freedom fighter. He clutched onto weapons and fought during our liberation war. Before setting out for the war his father told him, Go to the war if you will, but do not return if you are not victorious. He returned, triumphant. He was one of the many freedom fighters, a guerilla fighter.
