Technical difficulties and a charge of lopsided access are leading opponents of a planned Charlotte Street development to call for a new hearing.
Dropped phone calls at a May 5 meeting of the Asheville Planning and Zoning Commission led to an unrepresentative showing of support and opposition for the 101 Charlotte Street project, according to the Preservation Society of Asheville and Buncombe County.
The preservation society, in a letter from lawyer Hayes Finley, says those problems and more led to a meeting that doesn t meet standards spelled out in state law.
But Wyatt Stevens, attorney representing developers RCG and the Killian family, said they respectfully disagree that the meeting violated any public hearing requirements.
