At the meeting May 18, Kassinger said 20% of the 190 units (38) will be designated affordable. It s not a traditional apartment look at all, he said, pointing out the roof line that drops from the top of the building to the second floor and saying it s a better-looking building than what you would normally see for multifamily.
Architect Ken Ramsey with Atlanta-based firm Niles Bolton, said the first 1.5 levels of the building will be brick, transitioning to smooth fiber cement panels with fiber cement trim of an accenting color.
The roof will be fiberglass shingle and weathered wood, he said, and developers are contemplating vinyl windows throughout the building.
