The Kaduna government says the prevalence of sexual immorality is partly to blame for the state s security challenges.
The Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) this week demolished a hotel allegedly for being the proposed venue of a sex party advertised on social media.
The agency demolished Asher Hotel and Bar in Barnawa, Kaduna South local government area of the state to widespread condemnation from the Nigerian public.
In defending its actions, the agency said in a statement on Friday, January 1, 2021 that Governor El-Rufai ordered the immediate arrest of the organisers of the party, and demolition of the building to serve as deterrent to others.

For demolishing the hotel where the maiden edition of Kaduna sex party was to take place, the Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria, has commended the Kaduna State Government, saying such illicit act will incur the wrath of God
The council also hailed the government for arresting the organizers.
In a statement on Friday by the Council’s Kaduna State chapter Chairman, Engineer AbdurRahman Hassan, they said the current merciless bloodletting through banditry, kidnappings, armed robbery, and host of other vices, experienced in Nigeria are caused by immoral acts like the ‘Satanic’ sex party.
On Thursday, the Kaduna State government ordered the demolition of the building which generated controversy online.

The Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority(KASUPDA) has demolished a hotel billed to host the “Kaduna Sex Party
,” citing a violation of COVID-19 protocols.
“KASUPDA have demolished Asher Hotel in Barnawa Kaduna South. Asher Hotel was the proposed venue for the Kaduna Sex Party, the hotel was also caught contravening the Covid-19 guidelines of the state,” the agency tweeted on its official handle on Thursday after pulling down the structure.
The agency which also posted photos of the demolition exercise vowed that it “will not hesitate to demolish properties used for such [an] immoral act.”
