An inspection report highlighted concerns including incorrect PPE use by staff and torn and worn floor coverings which created trip hazards. In a statement confirming the closure, home operator Ashberry Healthcare revealed that 45 residents and 70 members of staff would be affected, with an indicative closing date set at June 30. But the circa 1.5-acre site has now been placed up for sale at a price of £2.2million through estate agent Christie and Co, Manchester. According to the listing, the facility was constructed in the late 1990s, with an extension added later in around 2005. It is described as a purpose-built property of traditional brick construction beneath a pitched tiled with uPVC double-glazed windows.

Heathercroft Care Home in Woolston set to close | Warrington Guardian

A CARE home based in Woolston has announced that it will be closing permanently. Ashberry Healthcare, which runs the home, has cited ‘current challenges facing the sector’ as the main reason behind the closure. The announcement affects 45 residents and 70 members of staff, with an indicative closing date set at June 30. During their most recent visit in July last year, CQC inspectors highlighted concerns including incorrect PPE use by staff and torn and worn floor coverings which created trip hazards. Ashberry offered a ‘wholehearted apology’ to residents and their families at the time for the shortcomings and said it intended to ‘move away’ from nursing care.
