Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the "nation would be run by the Constitution (of India) and not by the Sharia." He also warned that gangsters trying to come out of hideouts in the poll season will be smoked.
Owaisi was referring to the controversy that began in January this year at a government college in Karnataka's Udupi when six girls wearing headscarves were asked to leave campus.
Notably, two men have been arrested allegedly for firing at the convoy of Asaduddin Owaisi when he was leaving Meerut s Kithoudh area for Delhi after poll campaigning on Thursday.
