Arvind Kejriwal - a Type 2 diabetes patient who has gone to court claiming Tihar Jail officials have withheld his twice-daily supply of insulin for over a month - hit out at prison authorities Monday, accusing them of making "false statements".
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had last week alleged that Kejriwal was deliberately eating mangoes, sweets and other food items in his home cooked meals to spike his sugar level and then use that as a ground for bail.
A Delhi court asked why the CM’s family was sending him food items not part of his prescribed diet; it also rejected his plea seeking daily doctor consultations.
Arvind Kejriwal in jail: The AAP has claimed a "conspiracy to kill" the Delhi Chief Minister, who reportedly requires insulin twice a day but has been denied this since being at Tihar Jail in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam.
