Karnataka BJP MLA Arvind Bellad criticises IT major Infosys for not creating a single job at its Hubballi campus despite acquiring 58 acres of land in Hubli-Dharwad West. The BJP leader even demanded the government to reclaim the land from the software giant.
Infosys: During the discussion, the Minister for IT-BT and and Rural Development & Panchayat Raj Priyank Kharge also pointed out that in cases where land was taken but nothing was done, incentives could be withdrawn in such cases and even withdraw the land in stringent cases.
Industries and Commerce Minister MB Patil, "I don’t want to specifically talk about anyone, but be it Infosys or others, if they have taken the incentive and not given jobs to land owners according to their educational qualification, we might consider withdrawing the incentive or withdraw the land. We will discuss what can be done specifically under the law."
