Cleveland Public Theatre Returns to Live, Outdoor Events in July

cptonline.org The Cleveland Public Theatre free summer season will kick off with the play Panther Women: An Army for the Liberation July 1. All events are free and open to the public. Cleveland Public Theatre is preparing to open with Outdoor Stage performances for the 2021 season. From July 1 through August 7, CPT will host more than 10 live, in-person events featuring theatre, music, and poetry from local artists. Events will take place on the lawn between the Parish Hall and Church buildings on Detroit Avenue on West 64 th Street and are free to the public. Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan says visitors can expect a casual, but creatively engaging atmosphere.

The purpose of the Premiere Fellowship is to celebrate, reward, and support artists who have demonstrated excellence in and are committed to new play development. CPT defines excellence as artists creating transformative and impactful experiences for their intended communities. The award is for theatre artists from multiple disciplines, including acting, directing, choreography, scriptwriting, devising playwrighting, design, and stage management.
