Even if it had a storied history that was offending a sizable group of people, id think about changing it. But i dont want to detract from the wonderful redskins fans that are here. They love their team, and rightly so come it even though they have been having a tough time this year. Think all these mascots and team names related to native americans, native americans feel pretty strongly about it it i dont know whether our attachment to a particular name real, override the legitimate concerns that people have about these things. But, i dont have a stake in this in the sense of them not a part owner of any Football Team. And now we want to include you in the conversation about whether or not the Washington Redskins name should be changed. 202 is the area code. Native americans, we want to hear from you as well. Finally, for redskins fans, we have a line set aside, two 02 58538 83. Should the Washington Redskins . The d. C. Anged Council Passed a resolution asking redskins to change thei
This was the rosa parks moment for gay people. It was their neighborhood, it was their bar. It seemed like it was a war zone. There was the Tactical Police force, police cars, sirens. And then somebody started a fire. Stonewall was the spark. The Gay Liberation front was the torch lit by that spark. We carried that torch out of the closet, into the streets. Were america. You cant separate us out. I think its not a civil rights issue, its a moral issue. A 50year battle for equal rights and respect. I could not have guessed that at this age i would be married to a man. I never could have seen that coming. Im here doing what im doing because of all of the generations before me. Stonewall has taught us, you have to fight for what you want. And once your voice is heard, theres no turning back. They call me mayor pete, and i am running for president of the United States. 50 years ago, it would have been unthinkable for an openly gay person to run for any public office. We did capture 73 of t

Cohost and executive producer of show times the circus, John Heilemann, and Pulitzer Prize winning columnist and associate editor of the Washington Post and msnbc political analyst eugene robinson. Joe, set the stage for us today. Its been building up to this for a couple of tumultuous weeks. Talk about the circus. This has been the circus. A couple developments overnight that well be talking about. First of all, Brett Kavanaugh wrote an epioped for the wall street journal. Very surprising for a lot of people. And also tonight, for the first time three decades the Washington Post actually editorialized against a
Washington post report tonight that Robert Mueller brought up the possibility of issuing a subpoena to the president to testify if the president doesnt agree to an interview. And joyce vance said to you that they would have made a very serious decision about even saying that, and that Robert Mueller would not have said that, she doesnt believe, if Rod Rosenstein hadnt already confirmed with Robert Mueller and said, well, if he doesnt agree to an interview and you need an interview, the next stage will be a subpoena, meaning that rosenstein had in effect preapproved the subpoena so that mueller then mentioned it. That was a really fascinating exchange. And it has two totally fascinating implications, right . One is the Mueller Investigation is proceeding and vaulting over new legal benchmarks, including this subpoena threat to the president with the authority, under the authority of Rod Rosenstein. And this is marching forward as a legal matter. The other thing it suggests is that we th
