Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers continues to search for a killer 33 years after a woman’s body was found in an alley.
On Dec. 4, 1987, the body of Sharon Jones, a 27-year-old woman, was discovered in an alley just north of the 1200 block of Central Avenue in Naples. Jones was whose body was found bound, the woman strangled with portions of her own dress. She was last seen on November 30, 1987, at the Gordon River East apartment complex in the company of two males, Arthur Nesmith and Robert Richet. Her death was ruled a homicide. The investigation continues.
Crime Stoppers asking for tips in decades-old Naples cold case
NAPLES, Fla. – Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is still searching for answers after a woman was found dead in 1987.
The body of Sharon Jones was found 33 years ago in an alley just north of the 1200 block of Central Avenue in Naples, according to Crime Stoppers.
Jones was 27 when she was found in the alley tied up and strangled with her own dress.
She is described as a black woman last seen Nov. 30, 1987, at the Gordon River East Apartments with two men, Arthur Nesmith and Robert Richet, according to the Naples Police Department.
