Home buyers roar back after Easter break

Home buyers raced back in force in the week to Saturday, holding clearance rates well above the three-quarter mark even as auction volumes more than doubled after the Easter long weekend in a big test of the market after the end of JobKeeper support.
The preliminary clearance rate of 79.9 per cent was little changed from the previous week’s initial 79.4 per cent, even as the national number of scheduled auctions surged to 2170 from 874, CoreLogic data on Sunday showed. The figures suggest a final clearance rate on Thursday – when the more auction results are included – close to last week’s 77.1 per cent.
