SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY .-The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College announces that the next artist in its influential Opener series is Sarah Cain. The exhibition Opener 33: Sarah Cain—Enter the Center opened July 10 and will be on view through January 2, 2022. Los Angeles–based artist Cain explores and expands upon traditional ideas of painting, often modifying canvases by cutting and braiding, painting on all sides, and installing the canvas with the back facing the viewer. She paints on other surfaces, too, including interior and exterior walls, floors, and dollar bills, and often includes found objects such as crystals, feathers, beads, and other items with a personal connection. National Museum Of Racing And Hall Of Fame Announces Special Summer Exhibits Sponsored by: National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will feature several new and returning special exhibitions this summer for the upcoming Saratoga racing season. All summer exhibitions will debut on Thursday, July 1. New Exhibitions  (On display in the Link Gallery through Jan. 2, 2022) This exhibition features a series of groundbreaking animal locomotion photographic studies by English photographer Eadweard Muybridge (1830 – 1904) from the Tang Teaching Museum collection and paintings by American artist Henry Stull (1851 – 1913) from the National Museum of Racing collection.

Arts organizations join with Tang in All Together Now

The Saratoga blog By Wendy Liberatore on April 13, 2021 at 9:05 PM The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College will organize a collaboration between itself and eight other organizations in “All Together Now,” an effort to bring attention to rarely seen works of art. The collaboration, supported by a $275,000 grant from the Henry Luce Foundation, will feature works from the Shaker Museum and Ellsworth Kelly Studio at The Tang. At partner institutions, The Hyde Collection, the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, Saratoga Arts, Saratoga County History Center, Saratoga Performing Arts Center and Yaddo, works from the Tang collection will be exhibited.
