IT’S done. It’s taken a while, but Stockton’s Globe Theatre renovation is finished. And it’s striking. There’s plenty of reference to the Grade II-listed venue’s rich history interspersed with cutting-edge lighting technology. More than £22m of Stockton Council money has gone into the project – and its total cost will be more than £30m by the time the decade is out. But, after being peeled back to the bare bones and weathering Covid, the venue’s main sign is now up – and electric screens show the long list of entertainers and acts due to come to Stockton.
