San Diego County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher is the latest in a line of local Democrats to fall from grace amid sexual misconduct claims. In other news, affordable housing could be coming to the coast of Del Mar, which would help the city fall in line with state housing requirements, but not everyone is happy with the proposal. This weekend in the arts: Poets laureate at the downtown library; Medium Festival of Photography; indie bands Jupiter Flight and Nite Lapse at the Casbah; Mathieu Gregoire at ICE Gallery; Barrio Art Crawl and Fern St. Circus; "Exotic Deadly: Or the MSG Play" at The Old Globe; and Prebys Play Day at Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.
Fremont Community Theatre will present its first show of the 2022/2023 season, “AVENUE Q,” Sept. 30-Oct. 2 and Oct. 7-9. Curtain times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. The theatre is located at 1551 Dickinson St.
A number of events will take place in Detroit this weekend for Juneteenth, celebrated yearly on June 19th. This year's festivities start Friday with the Rhythm and Art Block Party.
