The Art Base’s
Claudette Carter Art Mentors program connects established artists in the Roaring Fork Valley with local students who have an interest in pursuing art in higher education or as a career. The mentorship culminates in an exhibition at the Art Base’s downtown gallery (through Fri. May 21). This winter, Roaring Fork High School senior Danny Carreno was paired with local multimedia artist Reina Katzenberger as part of the program. For a few hours each week during the shut downs and while Carreno was taking classes virtually, they helped each other keep creating and bonded over artistic expression as part of the program.
