Spotify Founder Interested in Buying Arsenal
Founder and CEO of Spotify, Daniel Ek, has expressed his interest in buying English football club, Arsenal. Ek has been a lifelong Arsenal supporter and recently expressed his desire to buy the club from the current owner, Stan Kroenke.
Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE), an American sports holding company, is the majority shareholder of Arsenal football club since 2007. KSE also owns the NFL franchise, Los Angeles Rams, and NBA Franchise, Denver Nuggets.

Since the takeover, Arsenal Football Club has witnessed a steep decline, and the fans have voiced their concerns about the ownership regularly. KSE’s popularity has never been high in the North London club, but recently it has stooped to a new low.
What s the latest on the Arsenal takeover?
Following the European Super League debacle, pressure has mounted on Kroenke to sell the club and it seems that a buyer could be in the pipeline.
Daniel Ek, who is the founder of Spotify, tweeted a message which attracted over 100,000 likes on social media. As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for Arsenal as long as I can remember. If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I d be happy to throw my hat in the ring, Ek shared.
Furthermore, it s been reported that Arsenal legends Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira have joined Ek s bid to buy the north London club.
According to Forbes, Ek is worth £3.4 billion (NZ$6.5 billion), with his Spotify music streaming service valued at £51.9bn. If his offer for Arsenal is successful, then it is understood Henry, Bergkamp and Vieira could all return to be part of a new set-up, with their knowledge of the club and the fan-base already winning plenty of support. Ek is believed to be open to the idea of having fan representation on the board, which will please the Arsenal Supporters’ Trust for whom Tim Payton said: “The AST have long called for the boardroom to be strengthened by the input of more Arsenal DNA, so we welcome the acknowledgement from three members of the Invincibles of the need for ownership change at the club.

The future of Arsenal Football Club could be altered in the coming weeks if a takeover bid fronted by Spotify founder Daniel Ek is successful.
The Swedish billionaire is believed to have the support of former Gunners favourites Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Vieira after announcing on Twitter last week that he would throw his hat in the ring to buy the club.
