ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill. The Government Bridge (Arsenal Bridge) will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians Saturday from 6:00 am until 2:00 pm for a bridge washing.
Signs will be available directing traffic.
Iowa side drivers can drive east on River Drive until you reach the remaining onramp from the old I-74 Bridge.
Illinois side drivers can either Drive west on 1st avenue and take the onramp for the Centennial Bridge or Drive east to the new I-74 bridge onramps in Moline.

KWQC-TV 6: The Arsenal Bridge is closed to all traffic due to a malfuction. According to a Facebook post by officials, the bridge is closed “due to the end lifts being unable to be placed in the ‘locked’ position.” Drivers, pedestrians and rail traffic are asked to avoid the bridge until further notice. Officials were not able to provide an estimated time of when the bridge will reopen. SO.looks like you ll be finding a different way between Iowa and Illinois this afternoon on the way home..

ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill. The Rock Island Arsenal Bridge is closed to all traffic due to a malfunction.
Vehicle, pedestrian and rail traffic are all prohibited as crews work to repair the bridge.
The Arsenal said in a Tweet the bridge is closed due to the end lifts being unable to be placed in the locked position.
It is unclear when the bridge will be reopened.
