Lake Arrowhead dock fire: Seven boats destroyed and others damaged
Palm Springs Desert Sun
A fire tore through a boat dock in Lake Arrowhead early Friday morning, destroying seven boats and damaging five others and the dock where they were moored, according to officials.
San Bernardino County firefighters were dispatched to the 800 block of Highway 173 just after 4 a.m. after receiving reports of billowing smoke and flames from boats docked near Peninsula Park on the northeast shore of Lake Arrowhead, which is managed by the Arrowhead Lake Association.
Fire crews found multiple boats aflame and the dock threatened. They battled the fire from a fire boat platform and extinguished it in about 20 minutes, according to a fire department news release.
