Former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger shared a video on Sunday in which he said the violent attack on the US Capitol reminded him of the events that led to Adolf Hitler s Nazi Party coming to power in Germany. The well-known actor also blasted Donald Trump, saying that he will go down in history as a failed leader.
In the video message, he denounced Trump and some of his fellow Republicans. President Trump sought to overturn the results of an election, and of a fair election. He sought a coup by misleading people with lies. My father and neighbors were misled also with lies, said Schwarzenegger.

WASHINGTON In a call for unity following Wednesday s siege of the US Capitol, former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said President Donald Trump will be remembered as the worst President in US history and urged Americans to offer their support to President-elect Joe Biden. We need to heal, together, from the drama of what has just happened, Schwarzenegger said in a seven-and-a-half minute video posted on Twitter. We need to heal, not as Republicans or as Democrats, but as Americans.
Schwarzenegger drew on his childhood in Austria in the wake of World War II, warning of the threat posed by repeated lies and intolerance.
