Henlly Phom OdyuoDimapur, Aug. 17 (EMN): Many young people aspiring to join the Indian armed forces under the newly launched Agnipath scheme are said to be rushing to hospitals to get their tattoos removed, as indelible imprints are not allowed in the military. Consultant dermatologist at Eden Medical Centre, Dimapur, Dr. Atoka Sumi told Eastern Mirror that many young men have been reporting to him for removal of tattoos of late. He said the number has increased though people do come on other days as well. Dr. Leishiwon Kumrah, Department of Dermatology Head, Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) in Dimapur, also said that there has been an increase in the number patients coming for removal of tattoo of late. However, she said the number of such patients surge whenever there is a recruitment, not just in defence but in hospitality sector as well. Dimapur, Aug. 11 (EMN): Around 5000 youth from Nagaland have registered for the forthcoming Agniveer army recruitment rally scheduled from September 7 to the 15th at Bhagat Stadium in Rangapahar Military Station, Dimapur. This was informed by Col. Rajesh, director of Army Recruiting Officer, Rangapahar, during a coordination meeting of stakeholder departments under Dimapur district held on August 10 chaired by the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Dimapur, Mhalo Humtsoe, in the conference hall of DC’s office. The meeting was held to discuss on issues for convenience of the Naga youth aspirants during the Agniveer army recruitment rally, stated a DIPR report. Col. Rajesh has sought support from the district administration during the rally with regard to transportation and accommodation especially for those coming for the rally from far flung interior districts of Nagaland. STATESBORO, Ga. (WTOC) - More than a thousand families got a helping hand in Statesboro today.
Volunteers directed people through traffic to load them up with food. The food drop was sponsored by Feed the Boro, the City of Statesboro, and Second Harvest Food Bank. People lined up to receive a supply of food that will feed an average family for one week. Cars lined up in the Statesboro High parking lot hours before the drop began. It also brings out people and groups to help.
