Discipline, merit, and inability to violate the rules make an institution strong and it delivers beyond its potential. Unfortunately, we are short of such institutions and those that do come close to these principles, perform outstandingly.Economic.

Four political parties including the PTI, the PML-N, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) announced on Thursday a boycott of the recounting of votes in Karachi s NA-249 constituency.
The parties accused the returning officer (RO) of failing to provide the Form 45 and Form 46 and breaking the seal of the ballot bag.
Speaking to the media in Karachi, PML-N candidate Miftah Ismail stated that the RO had refused to give the Form 45 and Form 46, adding that a full audit was also refused.
Unused ballots were not counted and signatures weren t shown either, he claimed. When we asked why there was no seal on the first ballot bag brought in, we were told that it might have fallen down, he said.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Sunday continued their war of words over the outcome of recently-held by-election on a National Assembly seat (NA-249) in Karachi as the latter submitted an application to the chief election commissioner (CEC) asking him to place election material, including ballot papers, under the supervision of the Army or Rangers.
The application was submitted by Miftah Ismail, the PML-N candidate in the constituency, after the PPP “welcomed” the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to stay announcement of official results for a recount, and asked the PML-N not to accuse the party of winning the seat with the support of the “establishment”.
