BigBear.ai will continue developing the global platform designed to enhance the U.S. Army's data-driven approach under a $17.9 million contract extension. The award will be dedicated to improving the data layer of the Global Force Information Management system, the artificial intelligence company said Tuesday.
"It's very, very tempting to continue to spend money on technologies that are 10 years old because we've gotten comfortable with them," Army CIO Raj Iyer said. "That's not what's going to help us fight and win.for the Army of 2030."
"What you’re going to see is a greater level of detail and maturity for not just leveraging commercial cloud computing, but really how that starts to extend into our on-premise locations, how this starts to extend into our tactical locations," Paul Puckett, director of the Army's Enterprise Cloud Management Office said.
