He spearheaded a legendary tank company in WWII. Now, Allentown vet is its last living member.

Clarence Smoyer’s voice carries softly, thoughtfully over the phone. He’s thinking about “Tanker Joe.” All the others, too. But Joe is freshest in his mind.
